Public Engagement

EuroStemCell is funded by the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). It unites more than 90 European stem cell and regenerative medicine research labs in a coordinated effort to engage with the public about science, making research on stem cells and regenerative medicine accessible to all. On EuroStemCell’s website you can find reliable, independent information and road-tested educational resources on stem cells and their impact on society. The PluriMes project works closely with EuroStemCell to create an exciting and vibrant programme of public engagement events for stem cell research.

PluriMes' Public Engagement

Each research group within the PluriMes project has nominated an outreach champion below. These individuals will be sponsored to participate in courses organised by EuroStemCell where they will receive training from science communication professionals, learn how to create their own resources and practice how to design events. They will then be equipped to organise communication and outreach events in their home locations using both resources provided by EuroStemCell and materials based on their own research. With encouragement and support from the senior investigators they will also stimulate other laboratory members to contribute to public engagement activities such as school visits and science festivals.
All of our champions are happy to work with you to provide public engagement events, if interested please contact the PuriMes project office who will put you in touch with one of our champions. The project office also have a variety of resources available, including dvds and games, which we can mail to you.
