Mara Riminucci's research group is interested in the cellular and molecular basis of bone physiology and disease. The research activity is especially focused on the biology of skeletal progenitors in the bone marrow, on the role played by these cells in the skeletal homeostasis and on the mechanisms through which they generate patterns of bone disease. The group has also developed multiple experimental models to investigate the properties of the skeletal stem cell system in normal and pathological conditions.
