Joint Stem Cell Consortia Meeting

In May 2017 seventy-one European stem cell scientists converged at the NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam to discuss “Stem Cell Research in Europe: Status and Prospects”. This unique event was co-organised by the Coordinators of 5 European Stem Cell Consortia; Prof Austin Smith (PluriMes), Prof Clare Blackburn (ThymiStem and EuroStemCell), Prof Shahragim Tajbakhsh (REVIVE), Prof Henrik Semb (HumEn) and Prof Elena Cattaneo (NeuroStemcellRepair).

The conference was divided into three main sections; Project Highlights, New Prospects & Future Challenges and a Round Table Discussion. There were also poster sessions, public engagement workshops and some general networking/discussion time.

The event was an opportunity for European stem cell consortia to network, showcase their research and to discuss the ‘new prospects and future challenges’ in the field of stem cell research.
